Les \u00e9difices sont d\u00e9crits au moyen d\u2019une fiche analytique d\u00e9taill\u00e9e comportant des crit\u00e8res descriptifs scientifiques. Chaque forme architecturale \u00e9ventuellement d\u00e9cor\u00e9e de chaque \u00e9l\u00e9ment d\u2019un \u00e9difice (enceinte, minaret, pi\u00e8ce, salle de pri\u00e8re, mihrab, cour, etc.) est identifi\u00e9e et d\u00e9crite au moyen d\u2019index hi\u00e9rarchis\u00e9s. Les images et bibliographies relatives au monument sont rattach\u00e9es \u00e0 chaque niveau.<\/p><p>Ainsi l\u2019interrogation peut se faire selon des crit\u00e8res chronologiques (dynastie, si\u00e8cle, date de fondation, remaniements ou destruction) ; g\u00e9ographiques (pays, r\u00e9gion, ville ou lieu-dit), architecturaux (mat\u00e9riaux, techniques de mise en \u0153uvre, morphologie) ou d\u00e9coratifs (mat\u00e9riaux, composition et motifs).\u00a0Afin d\u2019aider \u00e0 la l\u2019interrogation et \u00e0 la lecture des diff\u00e9rents monuments, les termes architecturaux et d\u00e9coratifs de la base de donn\u00e9es sont d\u00e9finis dans un th\u00e9saurus.<\/p><p>Une base plus compl\u00e8te est disponible pour les chercheurs et les doctorants sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s dans les Arts de l\u2019Islam.
